Digital marketing – don’t expect too much

Digital marketing covers a number on topics such as mobile phone marketing, social media marketing and website marketing. It basically covers any type of marketing that uses digital technology to reach potential or existing customers.

Digital marketing can work very well, but we do have to remember a few thing in order to reach a wider audience. If for example you have created a Television ad where you want people to search for a hashtag link, you are expecting quite a bit from your audience. You will of course get a percentage of traffic this way but there is a much larger percentage that will either not want to do it or simply do not know how.

Often we spend too much time using fancy technology and quirky marketing that we forget what the real message is that we are trying to get across. Mobile marketing is on the increase and this is because the number of people now using their mobile to search for products and services online is becoming greater month on month. The week proceeding Easter is expected to see a 500% increase in online searches compared to the previous period and over 60% of these searches are done on mobiles.

There are many ways in which to target mobile customers in terms of marketing. Some companies use a SMS text service allowing them to connect directly with each individual. Other companies use an app to engage users and then send them updates regarding their company via the app. If for example a company has an upcoming sale, they may send out a notification that pings up on your phone telling you about it or (if you have allowed permission) actually add the event in to your calendar. This type of marketing can work really well for many companies and once the initial cost for the app has been paid, there is often not a lot to pay in terms of running costs.

 

 

Tracking your marketing

When doing any form of online or offline marketing it is important to try and track the results you get from it. This may be the number or inquires or sales. This is vital to allow you to work out if it is worth investing in this marketing avenue and if it works for you.

If you set up an ad in a magazine or newspaper or do a leaflet drop then you may wish to set up a new phone number that is only used on this promotion. This will allow you to see how many people are inquiring due to that marketing.

If the marketing is done only, often this is easier to track as, with Adwords for example, you can easily see how many people have clicked on your ad and by using Google Analytic’s, can also track their steps through your site and see if they completed a purchase or sent you an inquiry form.

Digital art marketing is a way of marketing your business using targeted, measurable, and interactive marketing of products or services using digital technologies. It can be a great way to increase your customer reach and increase your sales. Common forms of digital marketing include, mobile / text marketing, Pay per Click campaigns and targeted email marketing.

You need to ensure that the person responsible for this knows what to do and has experience and knowledge in this area for it to work well. What is an infographic?

An infographic is an information graphic that displays information, data or knowledge in a visual way. This is said to be a great way to show interested parties trends and patterns within information and visuals are often said to help with the sales process.

Many companies use infographics in this way and it does often prove successful. Unlike text, information can be passed quickly and with little effort needed from the reader.
