An infographic is an information graphic that displays information, data or knowledge in a visual way. This is said to be a great way to show interested parties trends and patterns within information and visuals are often said to help with the sales process.
Many companies use infographics in this way and it does often prove successful. Unlike text, information can be passed quickly and with little effort needed from the reader. You can give a lot of information in a few images and very little writing making it ideal for signage or social media where you have little time to engage the user.
Some companies design infographics and use them in their social media campaigns, posting images that give information regarding to a product or service they sell. An example of this would be a company creating an image that shows the weather in a graphical format so rather than writing its going to rain showing a rain symbol on a particular day.
