If a business has a website it can be easy for it to get forgotten about. IT may be that the website was designed a number of years ago and has been left just ticking over bringing in the odd enquiry or used as a tool for the sales staff when wanting to show customers different services or products they can offer. Leaving a website for a long time without any changes or even tracking the progress can be a dangerous game and you could be losing out on a potentially large amount of business.
Ideally, you want to have someone or a team of people that are responsible for looking after the website. Depending on their experience, they may only be able to look after it in terms of adding new up to date information, images and content etc rather than improving the marketing of the site such as the on-page search engine optimisation.
