SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and is the process applied to a website in order to get it to rank high on the search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. SEO is not a quick fix and takes time and effort to get it to work for you.
All websites should have a level of search engine optimisation, and depended on the level of competition for your main targeted search phrases and locations that you wish to market yourself in, will decide what budget and time you need to invest in to it.
Some clients get confused with SEO and believe that once the site has had an initial overhaul then it will be good to go for a number of years but this simply isn’t the case. It is something that needs to be updated and added to on a regular basis. Most sites need an initial burst of SEO and then many require a number of hours each week or month to build on this. Sometimes you may not see the positive effects of SEO for three to six months, but this should not stop you from doing it.
