Mobile website design tips

More and more consumers are turning to their mobile devices to browse the web and make purchases. A huge number of sales approaching Christmas are made through a mobile device and this trend is only set to increase as phones become quicker, more reliable and easier to use.

With this in mind, you need to ensure that your website is being marketed to attract and connect with mobile users.

If you are a small business owner you may find that you struggle to keep up with the new technology and devices that are hitting the market as each operating system often has its own unique features and ways of displaying website data.

Firstly you need to ensure that your website is designed for all platforms and that the mobile version of the site is clear and easy to use. It may be that someone only has limited time and that they are using their mobile in a lunch break or on the go and therefore it needs to be quick and easy to navigate round.  You may need to create a stripped down version of your website as a mobile site to remove all the unecessary banners etc. that take up much of the room.

When designing your mobile website, be sure that you check how all pages across your site look and function as there is no point in having a great home page if the rest of the site is poor.
